Just imagine you are in a remote place in a different country. Suddenly, you hear someone speaking your mother tongue. What a serendipity moment it shall be! Most definitely, that's the magic our mother tongue holds. We are bonded to our mother tongue forever. The very first words we learn to speak are the words from our mother tongue. Every language in our country has a rich lineage and is deeply rooted culturally! And, our constitution was written originally in Hindi, as it is our national language and, of course, in English. February 21st is ear marked as INTERNATIONAL MOTHER LANGUAGE DAY as a reminder of the importance of preserving mother tongues as they are the essence of our cultural identities and heritage.
Every language carries history associated with it, traditions, and stories that, in turn, keep our cultures alive.
Let us keep highlighting the importance of preserving our mother tongue and celebrating linguistic diversity!
