Heralding the National Women's Day, our country celebrates the birth anniversary of Bharath ki Kokila; Sarojini Naidu. An eminent poetess and political activist  during the freedom struggle, she was a member of the Indian National Congress. She was the first Indian woman president of the Congress Party. She was also elected to the constituent assembly, the body that drafted the constitution of India. To her credit, she stressed the importance of our national flag at all her meetings! She was one of the greatest poetess to reckon with. Her poems were collected and titled as 'Scepterd Flute,' and 'the feather of the dawn' in English. She took part in the Civil Disobedience Movement, Salt Satyagraha, and Quit India Movement. 
To remember one of the greatest daughters of our country, India, the l3th of February, is observed as National Women's Day.
