The 11th of February is observed as International Day Of Women and Girls In Science. Women and girls contribute majorly in nation building. Gender parity is seen more often now in all streams than many years ago. Our women have conquered all the frontiers as they play stellar roles in nation building. It is said that you teach a man, he keeps it to himself but you teach a woman, she teaches the whole family. Such is the power! These must simply not be on paper but in real life as breaking stereotypes and promoting role models who are in plenty to be inspired from! Our country's highest post is held by a lady, who is dignity personification, Smt. Draupadi Murmu. The first prime minister of India was Mrs. Indira Gandhi! There are quite a lot of them who are still inspiring the younger generations. Closer home, Smt. Sudha Murthy fits the bill. Our mothers and teachers are the perfect role models one can think about! This can be taken to the highest level through targeted programs. Let us promote the scientific temper in our young girls as this is a global initiative to empower women and young girls in pursuing scientific careers!
