If someone is born with a silver spoon, cocooned by wealth and an easy life, it's quite hard to think that he or she can eschew the wordly pleasures and become a monk! That too loved by many Indians and fondly called Netaji. He is none other than Subhash Chandra Bose, born in Cuttak, Odisha, during the British rule. He returned to India to fight for the freedom of our country, forsaking his civil service examination.
With the help of the Japanese, he revamped the Indian National Army. An ardent disciple of Shree Ramakrishna Paramahamsa,he attained monk-hood. In Chicago, he thundered..' brothers and sisters, give me blood, I'll give you freedom.' This drew thousands of our countrymen to revolt against the British and wage a war. This made him the ikon that he's looked up to even now. Let us salute one of the greatest sons of India. This is our humble salutations to the noble soul. JAI HIND!
